Penn Foster College uses a number-letter system of grading, with number grades being assigned to examinations and letter grades to completed courses. The letter grade for each course is calculated by counting the average of the lesson examination grades as two-thirds of the course grade and the proctored examination grade as one-third. Letter grades are converted to quality points for the purpose of computing the Quality Point Average (QPA) for each semester and the cumulative Quality Point Average for more than one semester. Quality points range from 4.0 for an A grade to 0.0 for an F grade.
Your examinations and projects will be graded on the following scale:

You must pass all courses and achieve a cumulative Quality Point Average (QPA) of 2.0 or higher in all studies to graduate and earn your associate or bachelor's degree.

An overall program average of 65%, or above, is required to graduate and earn your diploma or certificate. An overall program average of 70%, or above, is required for the Pharmacy Technician Professional program.
